Our repertoire is very varied and is designed to cater for all types of audience and choir member tastes. New songs are added regularly in order to retain the freshness and vocal stimulation required to keep the choir improving.
Gail Brindley our Musical Director is constantly looking for new material for us to sing and rearranging old audience favourites.
The most popular songs in our repertoire at present are:
“Whistle Down the Wind” from the Andrew Lloyd Webber West End musical of the same name.
“When you Believe” a Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey classic from the 2000 film Prince of Egypt
“The Sound of Silence” made famous by Simon and Garfunkel
“From a Distance” as sung by many famous artists including Cliff Richard, Nanci Griffiths etc.
“The Rose” from the film “The Rose” in which it was sung by Bette Midler. This is a special arrangement of this song written by a friend of Musical Director Gail Brindley.
And of course our favourite fun song our own upbeat and technically demanding version of “This Old Man”.
A new favourites are a song made famous by The Carpenters, "Close to You"
and a fabulous song written by Bob Dylan and originally performed by Adelle "Make Me Feel Your Love".
However audiences have also been delighted with our renditions of the well known "All that Jazz" and "The Rhythm of Life".
"Wherever You Are" originally performed by the Military Wives Choir still retains the number one spot for audience appreciation.
Videos of several of our songs made at various events at which we have sung can be found on YouTube by searching for Tamworth Ladies Choir.
